Vino Kosher
The term “Kosher,” meaning “pure” in Yiddish, refers to food and beverages made according to the strict requirements of Jewish law. In the production of Kosher wine, the entire process, from grape growing to final labelling, must be supervised by a rabbi.
This includes the care of the vines, harvesting, winemaking, and aging. Only healthy, whole grapes at their optimal ripeness are accepted. The rabbi is the only one authorized to handle the grapes and oversee the entire production process. Additionally, the products used must be Kosher, and each wine container is marked and sealed by the rabbi to ensure its authenticity.
Kosher wine doesn’t have any significant technical differences in its production, but the rabbi’s supervision ensures that all the necessary regulations are followed to meet the standards of being considered Kosher.
