D.O. Terra Alta

D.O. Terra Alta
The D.O. Terra Alta is surrounded by mountains that isolate it from the Ebro River, creating a unique enclave for vine cultivation. The vineyards are cultivated on natural terraces, protected by traditional dry stone walls. In the heart of this region, we meticulously select each cluster of organic white and red Garnacha for our wines. These vines come from an exceptionally unique soil known as El Panal, a clay-limestone, low-organic-matter terrain that provides ideal conditions for growing Garnacha, enhancing its characteristic floral aromas.
The region’s altitude, combined with its contrasting climate, allows for a slow and balanced ripening of the grapes, highlighting the freshness and complexity of our wines. At the Batea winery, we transform these selected grapes into wines that express the vibrant essence of Garnacha, capturing the authenticity and unique character of the D.O. Terra Alta.
