Lluna Plena

Essence of the wine

Lluna Plena is named to symbolize the biodynamic work we follow in the winery, guided by the Maria Thun calendar. This calendar guides us in all the tasks carried out in the vineyard and winery, from soil preparation to harvesting and vinification, considering the phases of the moon and planetary influences. In the winery, we work with biodynamic preparations to stimulate soil life and vine health, always seeking the maximum expression of the grape. Limited production: 1998 bottles.

Terroir

It comes from our Muntanyans estate, plot 10, where we practice organic and biodynamic viticulture while respecting the environment. The highly calcareous soil is ideal for the vinification of this unique wine. The fresh breeze from the Mediterranean Sea influences it, giving it an unmistakable personality.

Winemaking Process

After maturation controls, while waiting for the optimal harvest point, we hand-pick the grapes to select the best ones. Once at the winery, we carry out a gentle pressing, separating the free-run juice, which we use to make our wine. Fermentation takes place in barrels, where the wine remains for 9 months, while we perform batonnage to encourage maturation with the fermentation lees, seeking creaminess and elegance. After several tastings, we bottle it. Since it is a wine with great personality, we control and minimize clarification and filtration processes as much as possible to maintain its full identity. Once bottled, it rests and matures for at least one year before reaching the consumer with its full expressiveness.

Appearance

Golden yellow with greenish reflections. Clean and bright.

Aroma

On the nose, it stands out with aromas of fruit, such as peach and apricot, as well as white fruits and pineapple. A touch of spices from the wood, like cinnamon, combines with saline and mineral aromas, the result of the calcareous soil and the Mediterranean breeze.

Taste

On the palate, it has a smooth and creamy entry, with a very pleasant fruity and saline sensation, along with citrus notes. It shows a good balance between acidity and body, fresh and very elegant. Its persistence is long, with a good combination between the barrel wood and the fruit.

Food pairing and serving

It pairs perfectly with fatty fish such as salmon or tuna, grilled seafood or seafood with smoked sauces, and white meats like chicken or duck. It also pairs excellently with dishes like gratin cod or mushroom risottos, as well as pasta with various sauces. Aged hard cheeses, such as Manchego or Pecorino, complement the wine’s woody notes, while Asian cuisine, such as sushi or tempura, is also a great option to pair with its citrus and floral aromas.
