Cooking wine
Gran Chef
Essence of the wine
Its origins trace back to the family matriarch, Antonia Marrugat, who, unable to find a suitable wine for her traditional stews, decided to create her own. She sought a special wine that would add a more complex flavor to her dishes. Thus, this aged wine macerated with a selection of aromatic herbs was born. While moderate wine consumption is beneficial to health, cooking with wine is not the same as consuming alcohol, as the alcohol evaporates at temperatures between 70°C and 80°C (158°F to 176°F). Most cooking processes reach much higher temperatures, typically between 100°C and 220°C (212°F to 428°F). Therefore, we can confidently state that in culinary preparations where Gran Chef has been used, no alcohol remains—only aromatic compounds that enhance our senses once the alcohol has evaporated.

Food pairing and serving
The Gran Chef is a wine specifically designed for cooking all kinds of roasts, baked or boiled fish, stews, pasta dishes, and for sauces or marinades. By using this wine as an additional ingredient, dishes become more flavorful, inviting us to pair them with our wines. Here are some recommendations: Roasts like chicken, duck, beef, lamb, etc., will have enhanced flavor and aroma by adding a small glass of Gran Chef (150 c.c.) for every kilogram of meat once it’s browned. After a few minutes, add the rest of the recipe’s ingredients. Stews and legumes will taste even better with 150 c.c. of Gran Chef per kilogram. Oven-baked, boiled, stewed, or marinara fish will improve if you add 100 c.c. of Gran Chef for every kilogram of fish. You’ll give your pasta dishes a special touch by adding a small glass of Gran Chef to the cooking water. Cooking with Gran Chef lets you reduce the amount of fat in your dishes while improving their quality. It adds delicious aromas, enhances the flavor of the ingredients, and promotes slow cooking, which is key to easier and healthier digestion. Plus, wine provides beneficial compounds for your health, such as tannins and phenolic derivatives, which act as antioxidants to help prevent cardiovascular diseases.
