Tempranillo 100%
Terroir
The terroir of Penedès is characterized by its diversity of soils and microclimates, ranging from limestone to clay, which enhances the unique expression of each grape variety. The influence of the Mediterranean Sea and the nearby mountains creates a perfect balance between freshness and ripeness, resulting in wines of great complexity and personality.
Winemaking Process
The grapes are carefully selected in the vineyard and, once they arrive at the winery, fermentation is carried out slowly in stainless steel tanks, allowing better temperature control and favoring the extraction of the wine’s fresh and fruity aromas. For approximately 15 days, maceration with the skins takes place, contributing to greater complexity in the structure and aromatic profile of the wine. After fermentation, the wine is aged in oak barrels for about 12 months. This aging process in wood imparts subtle spicy notes and enhances its balance on the palate. After barrel aging, the wine is bottled and rests for more than a year, allowing the tannins to soften and the wine to acquire greater elegance, reaching its full potential before reaching the consumer.
Appearance
Garnet red with tile-like hues, bright, clean, and with good consistency.
Aroma
When swirling the glass, the varietal aromas of Tempranillo unfold, with hints of red fruits and fresh notes of wild berries such as blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries. The oak barrel then reveals subtle notes of cocoa, chocolate, and vanilla that blend perfectly with spicy aromas such as black pepper and clove.
Taste
On the palate, the wine offers a smooth taste with a silky texture, the result of moderate aging that has allowed it to achieve perfect balance. The integration between the oak wood and the wine is excellent, preserving the freshness of its varietal characteristics, which are enriched with the nuances provided by its time in oak. Fruit and oak notes stand out. On the finish, the presence of tannins softened by time leaves a velvety sensation and a long, pleasant aftertaste. This balance between freshness and aging gives it great personality, inviting you to continue exploring its complexity with every sip.
Serving temperature
18º
Food pairing and serving
Its balanced complexity pairs perfectly with dishes such as grilled meats, stews, beef tartare, cured meats like chorizo, and aged cheeses such as Manchego. It also pairs well with legumes, such as a bean stew with sausage, and traditional rice dishes like mountain rice. For dessert, a dark chocolate tart with red berries or a red berry tart with mascarpone complements its depth, offering a harmonious pairing.
