Sweet wines have always been the perfect companion to desserts.
All wines, from those made using popular grape varieties such as Muscadelle, which the Romans thought was the king of all sweet wine grapes, to “chaptalized” wines – amongst which the most famous are Port wines – where the fermentation process is interrupted by adding alcohol, leaving a large quantity of residual natural grape sugars in the wine.
Pinord has been making their emblematic Moscatell (Muscadelle) sweet wine since they founded the winery. They also make a Port wine (Tawny), which has been aged between fifteen and twenty years and is the perfect companion to desserts. This wine is full of character and its sweetness makes is a very tantalising wine to drink.
